Today’s Bible reading is I Corinthians chapter 6
(Read the entire New Testament in 2014 by reading only one chapter each day)
“Know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own? For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (I Corinthians 6:19-20)
“Know you not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” (I Corinthians 6:9-11)
Since we have been saved we are to glorify God in our bodies. Our body is the home for our soul and the dwelling place for God’s Holy Spirit. Out of gratitude for all that God has done for us the very least we can do is serve Him. Paul said, “I beseech you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” (Romans 12:1)
Present yourself to the Lord, give all you know of you to all you know of Him. My hands, my feet, my eyes, my lips belong to Jesus. I must use my body to serve and glorify the Lord.
Prayer: “Dear Father, I surrender my body, the totality of who I am to You. Use me for Your glory. In Jesus name. Amen.”
