Today’s Bible reading is Revelation chapter 12
(Read the entire New Testament in 2014 by reading only one chapter each day)
Israel is God’s chosen people. Through the Jewish people God gave us the Scriptures, and through the Jewish people God gave us the Savior. Israel has been the object of Satan’s wrath ever since. In the end times the war between good and evil will intensify, and Satan’s hatred against Israel will reach its peak. God in His providence will protect His chosen people against every onslaught of the Enemy. Satan and one-third of the angels were cast out of heaven whenever Satan led a rebellion against God. Though cast out of heaven Satan still has access to heaven where he appears to accuse the brethren. At some point during the Great Tribulation Satan will lose all access to heaven. He will then turn his full fury upon Israel and the Tribulation saints because he knows his time is short. Satan will not only be denied in heaven, but also he will be defeated on earth!
“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” (Revelation 12:10-12)
