Daily Devotions: November 25, 2015

Today’s Bible reading is 1 John chapter 4

(Read the entire New Testament in 2014 by reading only one chapter each day)

This world is intolerant of God. It embraces all kinds of false teaching and false teachers, but it continuously denies God. There is in the world today the spirit of antichrist. The spirit of error will continue to grow in this world until one day it culminates in the coming of the antichrist. As Christ followers we must practice discernment and test the spirits to see whether they are from God. There are many false prophets in the world but we can test them by asking, “what do they say about Jesus?” Do they claim the same thing about Jesus that the Bible claims? Every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. Put every teaching in the world today through the Jesus test. If it does not line up with what the apostles taught, and what the Bible teaches, then it is not from God.

Prayer: “Dear Father, give us discernment and help us to detect false teaching. Protect us from error. In Jesus name. Amen.”
