Today’s Bible reading is 1 John chapter 1
(Read the entire New Testament in 2014 by reading only one chapter each day)
Jesus is the Word of life. He was revealed by the Father, and has made known to us His gift of eternal life. Knowing Jesus and experiencing eternal life leads to joy and fellowship with the Father. When we experience eternal life we experience the forgiveness of our sin. God offers us eternal life, and we must come to Him for this life. God is light, therefore God is holy. If we want to experience fellowship with God, we must be willing to leave the darkness of sin and come into the light of God’s holiness. Coming into the light will expose our sin. As long as we are walking in sin, we do not have fellowship with God, and we do not have fellowship with God’s people. If we confess our sin, God is faithful and just to forgive our sin, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.
Prayer: “Dear Father, thank You for eternal life. Thank You for Jesus Christ the Word of life! Amen.”
