Today’s Bible reading is Hebrews chapter 10

(Read the entire New Testament in 2014 by reading only one chapter each day)

Jesus, our High Priest offered Himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Through the blood of Jesus our sins have been forgiven, and Jesus opened the way for us to enter God’s Presence. The phrase “let us” occurs three times in Hebrews chapter 10, and shows us how to respond to God’s invitation to enter. First, “let us draw near.” (Verse 22) We can approach God with a pure conscience knowing that we have been cleansed from our sin. Secondly, “let us hold fast.” (Verse 23) Let’s hold on to the Lord, knowing that He is holding to on us. Keep a tight grip on your hope in the Lord. Third, “let us consider one another.” God has called us to stimulate one another in the faith unto good works. Christ followers must not neglect the assembling of ourselves together for worship, but we must meet together and inspire and encourage each other knowing that Jesus is coming again very soon.

Prayer: “Dear Father, thank You for making a way for us to come to You. Let us approach You with sincere hearts, fully trusting in You. In Jesus name. Amen.”
