Today’s Bible reading is Hebrews chapter 1

(Read the entire New Testament in 2014 by reading only one chapter each day)

In these last days God has spoken to us through His Son. What is unique about our God is the fact that He speaks. False gods do not speak, but the God of heaven speaks. Psalms 135:15-17 says, “The idols of the nations are silver and gold, The work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have, but they do not see; They have ears, but they do not hear; Nor is there any breath in their mouths.” (NKJV) God has spoken and continues to speak through the prophets, but His final Word is Jesus. Each of us need to hear from God. Jesus is God’s Word to us. Have you ever felt this way, “Lord, I need to hear from You?” God has already spoken in the person of Jesus Christ, and He speaks again and again through Him. Jesus is the brightness of God’s glory. Angels worship Him, and He is worthy of our worship. Everything that God is Jesus is, and everything Jesus is God is. Jesus reveals the Father. He is the express image of God. Do you need a word today? Here is one for you, “Jesus.”

Prayer: “Dear Father, thank You for making Yourself known. Thank You for Jesus the living Word of God. We join the angels in worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In Jesus name. Amen.”
