Today’s Bible reading is Titus chapter 2

(Read the entire New Testament in 2014 by reading only one chapter each day)

“A church needs both the old and the young, and they should minister to one another.” -Warren Wiersbe

Good wholesome Bible teaching, leads to good wholesome living. God’s Word is very practical, and teaches us how to best live our lives for the glory of God. We must always be sensitive that how we live reflects on the Word of God. How can we best practice our faith in the church? Here are the instructions God gave us. These instructions address older men and women, as well as younger men and women, but are applicable to us all. Adult men should exercise self-control, live worthy of respect, and live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love. Adult women should live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others, or be given to alcohol or substance abuse. Instead, their lives must be an example to others. Mature women of the faith are to train the younger women how to live. Younger women should practice their faith by loving their husbands and their children. They are to live wisely and purely, and to work in their homes and do good. They are to be submissive to their husbands. Young men must live out their faith by living wisely. They should love their wives and children as well, and work hard to provide for their families. Pastors and spiritual leaders are to be an example in all things. How we live reflects on the Word of God. Paul instructed Titus to, “Teach the truth so that your teaching can’t be criticized. Then those who oppose us will be ashamed and have nothing bad to say about us.” (Titus 2:8 NLT) How does your life and actions reflect on the Word of God?

Prayer: “Jesus, Teach us Your truth. Help us to become living Bibles. In Jesus name. Amen.”
