Today’s Bible reading is Romans chapter 10

(Read the entire New Testament in 2014 by reading only one chapter each day)

Paul’s heart’s desire and prayer to God was that Israel might be saved. What is your heart’s desire? What is the subject matter of your prayers? Does it include a focus on lost people groups? How do we develop a heart and prayer life like that of Paul? We must love the Gospel and center our lives to it. The Gospel is the Good News of Jesus Christ whereby the righteousness of God is accounted to us by faith. It is the Good News that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved! The Gospel is the Good News that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. How shall they call on Jesus if they have not believed? How shall they believe on Jesus if they have not heard? How shall they hear if someone doesn’t tell them? Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. How shall someone tell them unless someone is sent by God? How beautiful are the feet of those who tell others the Gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Prayer: “Lord Jesus, may the Gospel be central to our lives, and may this be reflected in our prayers and our heart’s desire. In Jesus name. Amen.”
